It's been ages since the last update, but I've been pretty busy becoming a vector illustration contributor for iStockphoto.com.
Since getting approved, I've been working hard on starting my image portfolio. I've uploaded ten images so far - I'll keep on adding more things over time, then hopefully I'll start picking up some sales.

First up for this update is the third poster for Major/Minor. View the skeletons here. This'll be the last one for a while, as Caroline's taking some time out to have a baby. It's been great fun working on these posters, so hopefully Major/Minor will be back in the future.
Second up are a couple of designs I did for Kidrobot. Sadly these didn't make the next Dunny series, but I'm flattered that Kidrobot hunted me down and asked me to give it a shot. Even the super-talented McBess has been knocked back by Kidrobot, so I don't feel too hard done by to miss out. Click on the images to see the designs in more detail.

A few things for this update. First up is a flyer and poster I designed for new Glasgow live music night Major/Minor. more
Second is an illustration of a White Ermine for Gwenn Ha Du, an importer of beers and ciders from Brittany. more
Lastly, thank you to everyone who voted for my Yoka designs in the Clutter contest. Both of mine are through to the final with a chance of being made for real. Fingers crossed!

After a month spent battling a throat infection and going round in circles on Paypal's shop button making pages, my shop is now officially open!
The shop launch coincides with the release of my first ever giclée print, entitled 'Candy', shown below:

Just a sneaky peak at a drawing for you in this update - a small section of my new piece 'Candy', which I was pleased enough with to turn into my first proper giclée print. It'll be launched in a new shop section of the site, once I've worked out the postage costs and set up the page.
Only 10 copies have been printed (each signed and numbered) - if you want to be first to know when they're released, why not join my new mailing list, over there on the left?
The shop will also become a home to original paintings, stickers, custom toys and anything else I can dream up. Stay tuned...

As promised, I've been busy painting over my Christmas break, mostly working on this new painting, Dead Garden.
I'd hoped to get more things done - there are a couple of things I've started sketching ready to work on through January...

New drawing up today, another girl and ghost drawn in Illustrator, and a vast improvement on the last one, I think.
I've got a couple of weeks off work for Christmas, so I'm hoping to get lots more drawing done...

Another double update this time.
First of all, I'm really excited to announce that I've designed the artwork for The Hermit Crabs' new EP, called 'Correspondence Course'. I've been wanting to design a CD for as long as I can remember, so I was really pleased when they approached me. You can view the full artwork here or buy the actual CD from Matinee Recordings, or in the shops.
If you're in a band and you want me to design your CD for a reasonable price, too, please get in touch!
Secondly, here's a new painting. I'm still busy sketching people, and this one turned into a proper painting. I'm definitely improving, but still think I can do better if I keep at it. Take a proper look here. |
