Living Well Argyll & Bute logo and brand redesign

Living Well Argyll & Bute / Transform Creative

Logo Design / Branding / Graphic Design / Icons

The Living Well Board and Communities Working Together / Community Rehabilitation subgroups involve a wide range of partners working across Argyll and Bute to support community health and wellbeing. As their work grew, they needed a consistent, trusted brand identity that clearly communicated who they are and what they stand for. They did have an existing brand, but it now looked quite dated and unprofessional. They wanted a unified visual identity that would help people quickly recognise their work, build trust, and make it easier to connect with support and opportunities.

I presented two options for the client. One option was a redevelopment of the existing logo concept and the second a completely new look. They decided to go for the former.

The new logomark follows the format of a Celtic knot, with two intertwining lines representing community and connection, but in a much more simplified form than their previous logo.

We retained a blue and green colour palette, with blue in particular giving the brand a health/medical related identity. The new colours are a bit less harsh than their old logo, but strong enough to meet accessibility guidelines on colour and contrast.

The new font choice is more accessible, clean and modern looking and is given more breathing space by positioning it beside the logo mark, instead of in the middle of it.

The logos were made into versions that could work on different background colours, and alternate worded versions were created for the Communities Working Together and Community Rehabilitation sub-brands.

Once all approved, I created final file versions for each logo along with a brand guidelines PDF. The guidelines include a logo directory, colour palette, contrast guidance for accessibility and font and typography guidelines.

A set of brand icons was also created, along with various templates so that the client could create their own Powerpoint presentations and Word documents. I also set up a brand kit and templates for various social media formats in the client’s Canva account.
