My career began when I studied Graphic Design (BA Hons) at Coventry University, graduating with an upper second class degree in 1999.
My first job was as in-house graphic designer for Roc Office Furniture in Birmingham, England, designing all their brochures, catalogues, exhibition stands and other marketing.
In 2006 I moved to Glasgow, Scotland, where I worked for BD Print, designing and artworking for large format print and vehicle graphics.
Meanwhile, I was busy in the evenings working on my own illustration work, doing gig posters, t-shirt designs and creating characters for personal projects, gathering interest from local gig promoters, Nickelodeon, Play Imaginative and Kidrobot along the way. Thanks to Glasgow band The Hermit Crabs, I also acheived my ambition of designing a CD cover.

In 2009 I became a contributor to iStockphoto, selling stock vector illustrations. Sucessful sales (over 500 so far to date) proved to me that there was a market out there for my drawings.
In 2010, due to BD Print's relocation along with my desire to move on to more varied and creative projects, I went part time and set up 'Tom Holmes Graphics & Illustration' - my own freelance graphic design and illustration company. I've now finished at BD Print and have gone 100% freelance.
I've been steadily picking up clients and have designed logos, icons, characters, web backgrounds, t-shirts, maps and more.
My aim is to be able to provide a service where I can deliver great looking design and illustration work to clients who appreciate creative ideas, attention to detail and professional advice and opinion.
